I’m Fiona, and at 25, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer—a life-changing moment that opened my eyes to an overlooked issue in cancer care.
During my treatment, I experienced firsthand the skin toxicities that come with chemotherapy and other oncology treatments. Dryness, sensitivity, irritation, and other changes were far more common than I had expected, yet there was little to no advice or guidance available to help people like me navigate these challenges.
With a background as a skincare specialist, I knew there had to be a better way to support cancer patients in maintaining their skin health and confidence. Determined to make a difference, I pursued a postgraduate degree in oncology therapies and further specialised with a postgraduate qualification in skin science.
From this journey, Sparkle Through Chemo was born—a brand dedicated to providing evidence-based, oncology-safe skincare and beauty treatments that empower cancer patients to feel comfortable, radiant, and confident throughout their journey.
